My Sleep Methods & Approach
It’s no secret that sleep training can bring up a wide variety of emotions and opinions. Let me set the record straight so you feel completely at ease supporting your child to fall asleep independently. I tell my clients that infant sleep is simple, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy! With me, you’ll get tailored sleep solutions that work for your child’s unique sleep needs.
You’re safe here. Great sleep is on its way.

My practice includes methods that are supportive for both child and parent, and tailored for your child’s sleep needs, while ensuring the results you need. This can be a big change for your baby, but also for you! You can be there to guide your child with your words, touch and presence, as we make your involvement less integral to the sleep process. Independent sleep skills is what we’re after, but that doesn’t mean we’re sacrificing responsiveness to get there.

We focus on teaching your little one independent sleep habits. This means that your child will learn how to fall asleep and settle on their own, without adult intervention. Sleep props are things like holding, rocking, feeding, soothers, car rides, etc. or anything “extra” your child needs to fall asleep.
Hear me out! There is nothing inherently wrong with these “crutches”. They’re actually an important part of the newborn stage. But eventually, many families find these methods aren’t working anymore, and a change is needed.
I can’t wait to show you how capable your child really is! I’ll guide you as you support your child to have strong independent sleep habits, that don’t include depending on you to fall asleep. It changes everything about how you view parenthood.

This is THE question when it comes to sleep training. And I totally get why! It’s never fun to see your child upset. But any time we make changes to comfortable habits, there will always be some level of protest. Change is hard, and it brings out big feelings for everyone.
There’s a spectrum of methods for sleep coaching. One extreme is “Cry It Out”, aka Extinction, which is what we all think of (and fear!) when we hear about sleep training. The other end is a very gradual, gentle process that can take an exceptionally long time to see results, and doesn’t always work.
My approach is somewhere in the middle. You can expect tears, because that’s how your baby is expressing their disliking to the changes. But you can be there to support your child with your words, presence, and touch. I know this part can be hard, but you know I’ll be there with my guidance & support!
